She had been renting all her life. Our adventure together began during a casual conversation about having to find a new place to rent. "The real estate market is posed for buyers right now." I suggested she look into pre-qualifing and just see what she could afford. She was amazed to see the low interest rates and the amount she was pre-qualified for. We discussed that although she qualified for a $350,000 loan, the monthly payments on a loan of 250,000 or less would be more realistic. She did some searching on her own and we did some searching together. Within a few weeks we submitted an offer, received a counter offer, countered and at $227,000 we received acceptance! Less than a month and a half later (and some additional negotiations in her favor) escrow closed! She and her daughter moved into their new 1300 sq ft home with two car garage and couldn't be happier.. and neither can I.
